THE JOY OF GIVING IS THRILLING.............

28thSeptember,2010
Tuesday
Dear Friends,
             Good Evening!

The Joy Of Giving week will be celebrated from 26th September-2nd October. The motive behind celebrating this week is to develop kindness among poeple and to instil the quality of giving something to the dear and near ones and to the needy without any expectations. This week was launched in 2009 and is held every year starting on a Sunday and ending on a Saturday, including 2nd October-Gandhi Jayanthi Day.Let us remember the great freedom fighter of India-the Father Of Our Nation-Mahatma Gandhiji who was the strong pillar behind the millions who changed India into a free country!
I have observed and experienced that the joy of giving is manifold more than the joy of receiving. The happiness and satisfaction one receives after giving is irreplaceable as it evokes genuine human feelings.Today we are too busy to spare time to reach out our relatives, friends and the needy.
One need not be rich to be the part of this noble celebrations.Have a large heart filled with love and care. What can we give?It is not just money or materials. We can gift time, skills and resourcesThere is a long list that we can offer.
A broad and inspiring smile,
Kind words spreading peace and cheer,
Being together to assure moral support.
A visit to an orphanage or old age home,
Taking precautions not to hurt,
the sentiments of our friends and fellow beings!
A word of appreciation for the good work,
A small gift of a fresh and fragrant flower,
A sincere and honest attitude in connections,
A tight and loving hug,
A friendly call,mail or sms,
The short love notes of
''How are you' and ''I miss you''.
Giving time to go for a stroll,
With whom the sunset will be more beautiful.........
Uttering the most inspiring words,
Into the ears of the depressed.........
Lending a helping hand to the parents,
Using the magical words,
Thank You and Please...............
Tolerating different kinds of people,
And spreading communal harmony!
Feeding the homeless and the hungry.
The birds and the animals...
Chanting a prayer for the sick,
And sending a handwritten letter,
To the one who waits for it....
Engage someone in a worthwhile conversation,
Sharing the experiences of joy and pain.
Just holding the hands that need the warmth;
Giving the presence and comfort,
To the ones who cry their heart out......
Stop grumbling and live life to the fullest,
Helping the blind to cross the road,
Reading out the good books to the people around,
Introducing the illeterate to the world of letters,
Buying crayons and sketchpens with colourbooks.
Just a kind gesture of asking,
''Hello,how are you?''
[Between,I do take care to do most of these actions.....]:)
And just to remember-before pointing one finger to others, the other four fingers are pointing towards us!
So,be humble and say God,thank you so much........
For all teh blessings you've gifted to us!
The long list of our actions that give us the joy never ends here...................
''Happiness is not something you carry in your hands.

It is something you carry in your heart.
A word of care and love gives happiness''.
So,dearies, tell me what are you going to do now?
Friends,
Be less self centered.Be ready to give for a cause of your choice.
Do something that can remove the frustration of your friend,
   Let someone express himself/herself;
All of us have untapped resources, dormant skills and abilities awaiting an opportunity to be revealed.
Today,Anu assures you her sincere love dil se...........
Wishing you a beautiful night that leaves a broad smile on your and my face.........:)
                                                  Stay Tuned,
                                                                     Sasneham,
             Anu

THE LOW AND HIGH NOTES OF LIFE.........

24th September,2010
 Friday
Dear Friends,
                    Good Afternoon!
How are you?The moment my last post-Puddles Of  Joy was published I had to rush to the hospital.Aunty was admitted in the hospital. It was so painful to see aunty in ICU.Within hours aunty breathed her last.I was feeling guilty as I was supposed to meet aunty this week.;but ''Time and tide waits for none''.Aunty was perfectly keeping well. For me,It was terrible to suffer in silence.I was upset and feeling guilty.Aunty just developed breathing problem and before anyone knew she had a massive cardiac arrest.I wanted to share my sorrow;but I kept myself away from friends.I wanted to be alone.
Mrs.Malathy .C Menon,a great personality, one hardly comes across in life;she reached out the needy. She had time for all, wiping away the tears and solving the problems.Aunty was a good speaker, actress, writer and organiser.Aunty was the retired high school teacher;well respected in the society. She was the president of the association.Very lively, bubbling with enthusiasm even at the old age.My carrer began under her guidance.Aunty used to organise the bhajans at Ayyappa Temple and various cultural programmes for different occasions..She was fondly called Amma by all.Let her soul rest in peace.
Friends,
Life is short.So,
''Treat everyone with politeness;
Even those who are rude to you.
Not because they are not nice,
But because you are nice''.
Yaar,
But I wanted you to be with me,during that time when I was feeling so low, feeling so guilty.I was feeling very low and lonely. But where have you disappeared?
The workload has doubled and I have started coming home late.Since three days, I was thinking of writing a post, but could not.My pc is also not functioning properly[just like my mind].
It was raining since yesterday night.Morning the rains and thunder welcomed me.It was so cold.A lovely weather to set one's mood on the right track. As usual the rains made me excited and I had something to look forward.I live in a state that is renowned for its beaches, songs, dances and places of worship. The domestic and international tourists visit this place every year.I was going to the destination opposite Miramar beach. The word Miramar in Portuguese stands for viewing the sea. This is ideal for the peaceful walks. The fine soft and silvery sand attracts tourists.
It was a ride by the sea shore,
When it was raining  beautifully.
The state is full of rivers, sea and hills,
And the lush greenery on both the sides.
The rich flora and fauna attracts one's attention.
Enjoying the cool showers on the glass,
Feeling the freshness on the face,
The ride was amazing and wonderful!
Gradually my heart gets filled with peace,
An unexplainable emotion spreads over.
Was that happiness or cool thoughts?
Someone else was also enjoying the showers,
Sitting in the veranda of the house,
Thousands of miles apart.
So,the thrill was more and sharing
The beauty of the cool drops filled
My heart with happiness and cheer!
There was sparkle in my soul;
And a broad smile on my face!
The surroundings were peaceful;
And there was the much desired solitude.
Away from the hectic life and the noise,
I pray and hope I can go for more rides.
''It hurts when you have someone in your heart.
But you can't have them in your arms.''
Wishing A Happy and Prosperous Birthday to MATHA AMRITANANDAMAYI AMMA on 27th,September and seeking Amma's Blessings,
It's Anu signing off.............
''Yet another day is about to end and it's time to sleep.May the millions of stars illuminate your dreams with beautiful thoughts of tomorrow''.
Friends,
Beauty lies always in our minds,
And I am sure you have the time and mind
To reach out those who are alone,
Seeking your presence and good words.
Wishing you a wonderful and relaxing weekend,
Hope all of you will sleep on a positive note,
And reminding you Anu loves you dil se,
                                           Sasneham,
                                                    Anu

PUDDLES OF JOY..........

18th,September,2010
Sunday
19th,September,2010
Dear Friends,
         Good Morning!
How are you?Relaxing this Sunday morning or still sleeping? Thanks a bunch for your wonderful comments and feedback for my last post. That is one of my favourites.:)
The morning is so gentle and a soul-whisper woke me up,''God Bless You,Dear!''What a beautiful way to begin my holiday! My Little Star,I love you a lot!
Once I leave my bed,I check whether my sea[let it be so]is safe and is still in tact.It has become my habit.I enjoy the beauty of the calm waves, check the new ships and then turn to my daily routines.
It's still raining.I am enjoying the freshness of the rains. The whole state is beautiful in the rains with an abundance of fresh grass all around.Small streams fall down the rocks and I must tell you,it is a bretahtaking visual sight. We can't escape the magical spell of the rains.I feel like climbing the thickly wooded hilltops holding the hands of whom my heart beats for.:)
Kids enjoy a double delight of spalshing water while swinging.I feel like walking over the waves and reach the ship anchored far away and disappear.:)This may sound as a strange dream but whenver I sit in my balcony and enjoy the beauty of the wonderful deep blue sea,I get an urge to do so.
When we are tired of living our life in the same old way, then we must relax, unwind and renew our souls. As a counsellor I come across  different people daily. The last case attended was really disturbing and taking away my peace of mind. This weekend I  have to get recharged with all positive thoughts as the next week is going to be very hectic. My working hours will be doubled.:(
I miss plucking flowers in my garden, talking to the blooms and butterflies that futter by.Often the cool breeze brushes against my cheeks and whispers,''Anu,how are you?'':)Between, was that your message?
I feel like writing a letter,
To someone I care and love a lot.
But the words are soaked in tears,
And the ink is dried long before.
So,now let me share my thoughts with you dearies;there is no special theme.
''Anything that happens is for a good reason,
And anything that doesn't happen is only for very good reason''.Once you start trusting these words, your life will be more beautiful.
It's rightly said,
''Never cry for any relation in life.
Because for the one whom you cry
Does not deserve your tears.
And the one who deserves
Will never let you cry...........''
Once we realise the truth we can always cause smiles and make others happy. The time is right now to forgive someone who has hurt us so badly;that is out of ignorance.Still we can stretch out a helping hand if they need us.
Never wait for an shot of inspiration to move forward.Listen to the inner voice and tell yourself,''It's the right time''.The joy, kindness, appreciation and love do disappear often from our lives.Mental numbness spread when we are left alone. But have patience and wait and watch. This too shall pass away.Life will change remarkably.Believe me.:)
Relieve someone who suffers from mental or physical pain;you will be blessed.
Enjoy your precious holiday and get recharged.
It's Anu signing off..............
Reminding you that we are full of love, goodness and care,
Never hesitate to reach the needy,
Get reconnected today and right now,
That may enhance the life span of your friend,
         Learn to forgive and forget,
Realise the life is too short to fight,
Assuring you Anu's sincere love dil se,[hamesha].............
May God Bless You To Lead A Fulfilling and Successful Life,
Make sure that you do give a wonderful gift of your lovely smile,
Wishing you a beautiful and bright day ahead,
                                                      Sasneham,
                                                               Anu

ONE MOMENT PLEASE...................

13.9 2010
Monday
Dear Friends,
Good Evening! The day started with cool showers.Standing in the balcony,I was enjoying the raindrops.Have you ever watched the raindrops falling in the deep sea? It's fun!A lot of emotions are aroused, when it rains..It's exciting to feel the  cool droplets on our face.I feel good;nice;energetic and pleasant. My heart starts skipping the beats. It's the rain magic. The rains kindle my imaginations. From far away someone calls me,''Hey,Rainy Girl!''The right mood is created to write the new post. And you know what, someone was waiting for me with a beautiful big red rose at my workplace.I was surprised;my day was made. There were smiles to greet me.With love and good thoughts in my heart, the day began. After jasmines,I love roses. What a wonderful way to begin the new week.:)And today is my kunjettan's [second brother]birthday.Happy Birthday,My Dear Brother!May God Bless You To have Many More.He had written a novel when he was in 9th class.Patience, tolerance, love and care, someone must learn from Kunjettan..
The Hindu friends are celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi.A display of fireworks light up the  sky during the immersion of Ganesh idols.Devotees burn sparkles and enjoy. It's festival mood in the state.Children are having holidays.
''To meet an old friend in a distant country is like the delight of rain after a long draught''.Those who have misunderstood me that I have gone away must know.........I can never do that.I will be always with you;but you may not know.
At times the world seems to be a strange place to me.That moment I decide to keep the distance;it is not going away;it is silence and spcae that will help to build the bonds stronger. My wonderful friends make it a point to lift my spirits and not to lose my cheer.I am so grateful to them.
''Noone has ever won a game of chess by moving forward alone.Sometimes we have to move backword to get a better step forward. That is life''.I strongly agree and want to give a chance.
When I go to bed at night,I suddenly remember many things I forgot during the course of the day-that I forgot to smile,I forgot to compliment someone for a deed well done, for a word well spoken, and I could have been happier.Self examinations make us better persons. The life is short and we must live each and every moment to the fullest. We may not be able to do everything we want. But we can try to get the best of each moment.
So,be careful while exchanging words and sharing hard feelings.
I don't know whether I should express;later I thought,why not?Who knows a tomorrow awaits me?
''I love you not only for what you are,but for what I am when I am with you.I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me.I love you for the part of me you bring out''.
                                                                                           Elizabeth Barret Browning
Now when the breeze is cool and the sea is quiet,I would like to go for a long walk.I know I am emotional and often feeling sorry.I do miss you a lot.I am sorry for the tears you shed[my tears are always invisible] and for the deeply  hurt feelings. But love heals and only love heals.making the nights sleepless and moments restless what do we gain?Nothing.I do feel  the pain and agony and I realise the harmony was missing.Never ask ,''Whose fault?''Whatever has to happen happens.
Still,I have learnt to forget and forgive. My dear,''Every life in this world is written by God's own sweet hands, that's why I'm thankful because when he wrote my life he included you too as a lovely chapter''.:)
Friends,
It's really nice to have somebody who tells us that he/she loves us.So,if you have not told that so far, please do that right now.You will be blessed.
It's Anu signing off................
Please stay with your friends as parting is heartbreaking and so painful.
Confess and restart;life is still beautiful.
Still you can look for the true and warm feelings, love and care,
     Remember,Anu loves you dilse,
Wishing you a peaceful and happy night,
                                                  Sasneham,
                                                               Anu

GOD OF WISDOM-OUR GANESHA!

11th September,2010
Saturday
Dear Friends,
Good Morning from the land of sea, songs and sand.I reached here and joined duty.We have three days holidays and so there is enough time to finish the pending work.
Today is so auspicious. Here, today  we celebrate Eid and Vinayaka Chaturthi!I went to Shree Ayyappa Temple today morning and I feel blessed after each visit to temple.Arrangements are getting done for the installation of Lord Ganesh at Ayyappa Temple. There was rush.Today is Saturday too. Many devotees do come for Lord Ayyappan's darshan. The Lord,The sandalwood paste, flowers offered to Lord and Theertham give us a lot of positive energy.
The state is in aflurry of excitement.Ganesh Chaturthi and Eid preparations are in full swing.
AUM SHRI GANESHAAYA NAMAHA!The four letter mantra is chanted to begin the prayer to Lord Ganesha,an embodiment of wisdom, intellect, knowledge, bliss, good luck and fortune, teh remover of obstacles and the guardian of all existing beings occupies a highly venerated place in the Hindu pantheon of thirty-three million Gods and Goddesses. He is the most beloved and and is revered for being merciful and endower of joy and success.Let us pray together teh most popular stotra..........
Vakratunda mahakaaya,
Sooryakoti Samaprabhaa
Nirvighnam kurumedeva
Sarvakaaryeshu sarvada
The stotra means-You of teh twisted trunk and massive body.with the dazzle and light of millions of suns, lead me on apath that has no obstacles nor hindrances, clearing teh way in all that I do,ever and always.
Devotees were eagerly waiting to welcome teh harbinger of goodwill and destroyer of ill-luck.
Chubby and smiling elephant headed Ganesh is the  eldest son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi. He is invoked before any auspicious beginnings.Ganesh Chaturthi is also referred as Chavath. His four hands hold a conch,a discus,a bowl of sweets  and a water lilly.Ganesha is pot-bellied and is always attended to by his vehicle -the Rat.Worshipping caly idols of Lord Ganesha is an ancient custom.I have many small and cute Ganesha idols received as gifts.
Lord Ganesha has written the epic,Mahabharata, dictated by the sage Vyasa. So,Ganesh is always considered of the God of Learning,Wisdom, prosperity and Success.
Ganesh Chaturthi Festival is celebrated from the fourth day [Chaturthi] of the month of Bhadrapad of the
Hindu Calendar. This year, the  day of Chaturthi coincides with the completion of Ramzan. The Muslims break their fast after sighting the moon, while the Hindus do not lay sight on the moon on the day of Chaturthi.Devotees carried idols of Lord Ganesha yesterday for installation.
Chavath follows the rainy season.During this time, the state is in lush green and abounds in natural wealth like fruits and vegetables.Even in the wild, one finds different kinds of fruits wrapped by striking colours and plants in full bloom.Such properties that appear everywhere before the festival are seen hanging to the Matoli infront of the idol.Matoli is the main decoration at the  chouth.A frame of bamboo or beetle nut palm is hung in front of the Ganesh. Each square in the frame is 8 to 12 inches with 16 to 24 squares.Bunch of wild fruits and cultivated crops are hung on teh Matolli. The tradition is strictly adhered that athread from the Kevni plant only has to eb used to tie the frame to the roof, bunches of mango leaves and fruits.Variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables like cucumbers, white gourds, chibud, pumpkins, tangerines, bread fruitetc.and bunches of local fruits like ambade, coconuts,Shiptem[raw beetle nut bunches],half-ripe banana are used traditionally.Besides this, specially brought wild fruits like Kanglam,Phaglam,Mattam are also used. All of them are arranged beautifully according to their sizes and colours. The fruits used for the Matolli are to be plucked carefully and should not touch the ground.
The festivals are a time for family reunions, community celebrations and functions. It is also a time for large gatherings and movements of people.Festivals bring together those who are far and near.Devotees enjoy bursing fireworks. All are enthusiastic. The Matolis are ready, the crackers have been bought andladoos, neoreos and modaks are all set to be gorged on over this week.Ganesh Chaturthi arrives after Shravan's month long diktat of abstience.
In Goa,Hindus go to their ancestoral homes to participate in the rituals and celebrations. This reminds me of Onam celebrations when Keralites across the globe reach their dear ones.Goa goes to hyper mode in its celebrations, but with specific festivities in villages and ancestoral houses which may last between one and half day to seven, eleven and twenty one days. Now a days it is celebrate dfor one and half day due to work commitments. The villagers during the afternoon and night religious ceremonies visit each others' houses and join in singing the aartis of the  tunes of the local drum called teh Ghumat,an earthen pot covered.
Emersion of teh idols is amagnificient event and every villager, young and ols join into sing,Ganapati Bapa Moraya,Pudiya Varsha Lavakar Ya meaning-Oh,Lord Ganesha, please come early next year.
Lord Ganesh loves modak, a  jaggery and grated coconut paste in adeep fried crispy patti pouch.A visitor to any Goan Hindu home shall find delicatessen such as neureos, spicy shev, chivda and many such mouth watering delicacies.Twentyone modaks are steamed and served to Gord with neoroes, ladoos and fruits. The food is considered to be lord's favourite.
Devotees are running around picking up items from their lists.Everything from decorating the home to gifts for loved one. This not only marks an auspicious time on the Hindu Calendar, but the beginning of the business boom.
Ganesh Chaturthi signifies the inter relation of mankind and nature. The entire celebration worships nature with a strong belief that the very existence and sustainance of all creatures in the universe rely on nature. The same is reflected in the formal prayer-Prithivi say shalini-abundance's in natural wealth also reflected in the  folk lore;oral traditions.
Crackers and Bhajana are the trademark of the huge processions that wind their way to waterbodies to immerse Lord Ganesha's statue. With a request to return next year devotees return homes to the chores of their regular lives.
                GANAPATI BAPPA MORIYA!
May Lord Ganesh bless one and all!
     It's Anu signing off.........
Requesting to celebrate an eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi,
Pleading you to forget teh ill feelings and get back to your lost friends,
Reminding to teach the rituals and importance of each festival to the young generation,
Assuring Anu's sincere love for ever,
Hey,tell me your modak is ready?:)
Wishing you a HAPPY VINAYAKA CHATURTHI,
                                                   Sasneham,

Eid -ul-Fitr;The Festival Of Peace

10.9.2010
Friday
Dear Friends,
Good Morning!
EID MUBAARAK!
It's festival mood everywhere.Eid is celebrated today and Ganesh Chaturthi, tomorrow, on Staurday. The celebrations for both the  festivals have already started  since daysMail box is getting filled with greetings.:)Last year too I had written a post on this wonderful festival.I join my dear friends who celebrate this beautiful festival of Eid-ul-Fitr and so thought of writing another post today.
Eid -ul -Fitr is a joyous occasion. My Muslim friends are in high spirits. It celebrates kindness and discipline and strives to establish peace in this confused life.
105 millions of Muslims make India the second most populace Islamic Nation in the world.Eid is derived from the word,'oud' or 'the return' to signify the return of Eid each year.'Fitr'' means a donation. It is given away to the poor and the needy during Ramzan.Fitr is a must for every Muslim and each member of the household must contribute.Fitr is distributed so that even the poor can celebrate this festival with others. So beautiful! What a kind gesture!
This festival is very important for its religious implications. It is celebrated after the fasting month of Ramzan [the ninth month of Muslim year],on the first day of the Shavval month of the Muslim Year.It is believed that the Koran was revealed to Prophet Mohammed in the month of Ramzan.
I appreciate and admire my Muslim friends;right from small children to adults, they strictly follow fasting.'Ramz'' means to burn and fasting is considered to burn down one's sins.Fasting or Roza starts at sunrise and lasts until sunrise.During this time no food not even water is consumed.[I can never think of this].The principle behind Roza is to understand the plight of the poor and pledge to live  a more and significant life .
The enchanting crescent moon is seen on the 29th or 30th day of Ramzan, followed by the day everyone is waiting for -Eid.
I have many Muslim friends who are in the joyous mood and in high spirits who celeberate Eid -ul-Fitr.
Eid is the end of the holy month of fasting of Ramadan. It is the festival of purification after completing fasting month.Eid-ul-Fitr salat is offered in an open places like, open grounds, squares or fields  called Idgah.Public Eid prayers are held and everyone participates. It is customary to walk to the Idgah for this holy service. It is so impressive and a noble event.Multitudes raise their hands to the Heaven in a ceremony of unparalled organisation, discipline and equality. The spectacle of millions of people bowing befo God filled with symmetrical grace, majesty and a soul stirring feeling and it is so touching. The salat is performed  with Jammat with extra Takbirs, three of them in the beginning of the first rakaah and three of them just before ruku in the second rakaah. The Eid prayer is followed by the sermon[khutbah]and then a supplication [dua]asking for forgiveness ,mercy and help for all living beings across the  world. What a beautiful message this festival offers!
It is then customoray to embrace the persons sitting on either sides while greeting them,''EID MUBAARAK!''After prayers people visit their friends and relatives and share the happiness.
Eidi or gifts are often given;it is common to give small amount of money to the children by the adults.Children salam parents and elders.
Here Muslim devotees have their namaz in the huge ground near my house.I can watch them doing the rituals standing in the balcony at the backside. The congregational method of praying, according to the Prophet is sought because the harmonious beauty of life comes only through intermingling and greeting each other by embracing and utterin,''Eid Mubaarak''.
On the eve of Eid,the entire enviorns keep awake with children shouting loudly,''Eid ka chand ho gaya hai''.
Today Muslims wake up early in the morning ,offer Salatul Fajr, getting cleaned, putting on new clothes and apply perfume.I love the  smell of Athar. It is forbidden to fast on Eid.So our Muslims have dates before attending the special Eid prayer. It is a very good practice of perfornming charity-Zakat is given to the poor and needy.
This is also known as the  smaleer Eid[perunnal] as compared to the Eid -Al- Adha that lasts four days following the Hajj and is referred to as the greater Eid.Muslims are commanded to complete their fast on the last day of Ramdaan and recite the TAKBIR all throught the period of Eid.
Markets are livelier now.People buy new clothes and sweets.Women get attractive to bangle stalls and jewellery shops.Dry fruits, spices and fruits are purchased to prepare mouth watering dishes. Here, our Musilm neighbours used to bring delcious biriyani on this day.We used to enjoy the special biriyani and teh sweet dish,Sewayya[vermicelli cooked in milk and sugar].I always enjoy the dryfruits, sweetmeats and biriyani. The meal is really grand. Now they have shifted to their new house.
All The Best Wishes To Muslim Friends across the world and I join you in your celebrations.Happy Eid!
My dearest friend,I remember you today,
       I appreciate your sincere friendship,
Even though you have decided to be silent.
You the first one who dedicated a post to me,
And that was a real visual treat!:)
I keep it close to my heart as a treasure for ever.
Hope you have read the Malayalam post dedicated to you![A small gift for this small perunnal].
ALLAH!I have not observed fasting  of Ramdaan.Still I request you,God,please burn my sins.Forgive those who have hurt my feelings.Let me live peacefully.Eid has become an occasion of interfaith harmony as well as a day to mellow away the enemity and feelings of heart burn.Eid has also become a symbol of communal concord as on this day many Eid-Milans are conducted by people from all walks of life.
Insha Allah!
Your festival is my festival.:)
  EID MUBAARAK!
 It's Anu signing off..........
Each festival makes me relive my life,
Memories become so fresh and lively,
Hope and happiness spread,
Anu loves you dil se,
Thnaking you for your greetings,
           Wishing once again EID MUBAARAK,
Enjoy and celebrate this wonderful festival,
                                                   Sasneham,
                                                              Anu

The Letter I Have Not Posted Yet.............

5th September,2010
Sunday
Dear Friends,
                 Good Evening from Thrissur!
Happy Teachers' Day To All My Wonderful Friends Those who belong to this Noble Profession of Teaching..Amma,I am so proud of you as you are such a wonderful teacher and a loving  Mother.I am so grateful to God Almighty for having  born to the most wonderful parents.
I express my deep respects and love to my parents and teachers who helped to mould me into a fine personality.
Life is better with your proper guidance and right directions.I will be always indebted to you.
''May the rays of sun always shine on your windowpane;

May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain ;

May the hand of a friend always be near you;

May Happiness always be yours''.
Thank you so much,my Chennai friends for the warm wishes  and heartfelt greetings. You do make my days special and my heart is filled with warm thoughts.
When the weather is so pleasant in this city,I feel like sharing some of my thoughts with you.Right from school days I enjoyed writing letters. My people and freinds always waited for them as they contained even the minute details.I have the hobby of collecting letter pads with beautiful images, colours and softness.Nanda and Etten always gifted them to me. Using all different coloured pens,I used to write letters.Depending on the depth of relation,I use the colours.Normally I give blue colour represented  my love.I still remember the letters written to my Achan.
Later the busy life and the easiest ways of communications like telephone and mails replaced the letters.Still while travelling or while enjoying solitude I write letters in the pages of my mind.
We do come across a few good people in the journey of our lives. Some stay with us and some part their ways. Some build very strong bonds and others make our hearts into fragments. Some leave the deep marks of love and care.
At times someone remains silent,
Due to unexplainable situations of life.
But still we feel their presence in their absence.
I don't know how often I write letters to you,
But I do,that is a fact.
While waiting at the railway stations,
While travelling and reading fictions,
While listening to the melodies,
I do write letters to u.
The cool showers and my sparrows
The various blooms in the garden,
The butterflies and bees,
Inspire me a lot to write letters to you!
Before it is too late,I thought of  letting you know,
I do write letters for you, but will never post them.:)
I hate proving facts and realities;
But perhaps I may not be in blogosphere for long.
So,before it is too late, let me tell you friend,
Whenever I enjoy the spectacular sunsets,
Wonderful waterfalls and fresh green plants,
I do think of you and chat with you!
I know you are too busy with life and work,
And not very sure whether you will read this post.
While walking through the edge of the stream,
Getting my feet  wet in the cold water,
I really wished if you were with me,
Answering all the silly questions,
And giving me a patient hearing,
Sharing all the crazy and silly dreams with you.
But now your absence has become your presence,
And I have stopped expecting answers.
No matter however disappointed and sad I was,
I am still reluctant to replace you with someone else.
Change is always not good in relations, you know?
The moments of deep sharing
And the countless little gestures,
Make me happy there's someone to care.
The honesty and tactfulness you maintain
In our friendship do have the magical touch.
At times the thoughts are disturbed
And making a lot of difference,
In the normal and simple day to do day life!
I did forgive you for dropping that unkind words,
As once your words were of joy and hope;
Splashing a lot of cheer and comfort .
I would like to keep those in my treasure box,
Cherishing the fragrance and sweetness it spread.
''Agar sache dilse ho rishta;
To sitare bhi apni jagah ,
Kisi ke liye chod deti hain''!
I will be getting busy with work
And posts and letters may take a back seat!
But each festive occasion and blooming buds,
Bring back your memories!
Friends,
Getting connected in silence is an amazing experience!
Friends at the other end need not know,
We are writing letters that can't be read!:)
''chale gaye ho dur kuch pal ke liye
Dur rehkar bhi karib ho har pal ke liye''!
With heavy heart,it's time to pack my bags again,
Life won't be the same once I leave Amma and Nanda!
Thrissur is so divine in the morning,
And attractive by the dusk.
Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations have already started,
In the decorated ground near Maha Deva Temple,Pookunnam.
Reminding Anu loves you dil se,hamesha,
Asking you just one question,,,,,,,,,,,
Have you ever written any letterst o me ,
That is not yet posted?Let me know.:)
Wishing you a beautiful and peaceful night,
My honest wishes from Thrissur!
                                   Sasneham,
                                               Anu

ENTE KANNA.................................

Ist September,2010
Wednesday

Dear Friends,

Good Evening from Thrissur!

Happy Janmashtami!Today is the joyful celebration of Lord Krishna's birth.Major celebrations take place at midnight as Lord Krishna is said to have born at this hour. This is the time to spread the glory of Lord Krishna.

Morning we went to Thiruvamdai Temple and it was an exciting and unforgettable experience. The temple was decorated with orange and yellow marigold strands with strands of green leaves in between. The small orange coloured coconuts and plantain bunches were hung beautifully.A wonderful pookalam was done at the center of the Nada in nalamabalam. An elephant was standing outside with the mayhout on its top.As I was inside,I could not find out the name of the elephant.:)Later there was sheeveli with five elephants.

Nadaswaram was going on and it reminded me of marriage rituals and the bride and bridegroom.Live bhajans were going on.Tender coconuts[chethenga] and bunches of plaintains were hung for decoration. The whole atmosphere filled my mind with positive energy.sandalwood paste was given on plaintain leaf with tulsi leaves and lotus petals,by the priest.

Krishna was so adorable and looked so cute.Kannan was adorned with gold jewellery and floral garlands.Garlands were strung with thechi flowers and tulsi leaves. These are very special for Kannan.Lamps of various sizes were lit up.There was a huge crowd.

Devotees dressed in traditional attire stood in the queue patiently.Devotees will go to temples today to have darshan of Lord Krishna.Looking at Kannan,I felt as if the Lord Himself has condescended on earth to bless each and everyone.
Ente Kanna,I feel nice and really good,

Whenevr I am with you.

I get recharged and feel happy.

Kanna,you know I stopped asking you questions;

When you refused to answer me

When the storm uprooted me.

But I do often feel like asking you many questions

So that I get relieved.

You have made me strong with the passing days.

I surrender,my beloved at your Lotus Feet,

My pains and pleasures are your gift;

When heart aches, your melodious raga reaches me.

You know Kanna,right from childhood,

We are your ardent devotees.

We wake up having your darshan,

Praying,''Om Namo Bhgavathe Vasudeva!''

Achan always taught to chant the divine mantra

And Amma instilled the pure devotion in our minds.

I fondly remember the stories Achamma narrated.

I always admired your naughty nature.

Kanna,why do people behave strangely

Why are the freinds so selfish at times

And leaving us without a single word?
Without having any sound reasons?

But then it is always better to be away from the bondage

That has become a nightmare.

You are with me always as an invisible companion,

My ignorance and thoughtless actions;

Taught me valuable lessons.

I am grateful to you ,Kanna,

You are my strength and source of inspiration!
Friends,
   Wishing you a Happy Janamashtmai,
