Saturday
Dear Friends,
         Good Evening!
This evening has a special charm! The blue sea is so colourful! The illuminated ships look like wonderful castles. The sky is beautiful with twinkling stars and moon! Can we imagine  a night without stars? Can we imagine our lives wthout love? No!
Writing is always my passion.I dreamt to be a writer!I may starve;but will not sleep without browsing through books and magazines! My bed will be full of books and papers.
Today my heart is filled with happiness and gratitude while I am writing this post.Within two years[2nd blog anniversary is coming up] I have completed 304 posts in English[3 guest posts and  I had deleted a very emotional post at my space] and seventy posts in Malayalam.I am feeling good and would love to share my joy with each and everyone. The joy shared is joy doubled.
I appreciate your wholehearted kindness and moral support given throughout my long journey in blogosphere. Each and every friend, reader, follower and strangers who stopped by or  took time to leave a comment, please accept  a Big Thank You and a basket full of flowers.I want to convey my heartfelt thanks to you.Few have sent very personal emails that I cherish forever!Being with you and interacting with you was a pleasant experience. Many friends do send  me wonderful morning mails and pictures and images as I am so crazy about pictures/photos.You are my priceless gifts I have received from blogosphere.
At sincerely yours emotions and feelings overflow. As I do counselling, events and incidents are always in plenty.I never feel any block or shortage of themes.
I am so delighted to receive many awards but I am not very sure where to accomodate them in my blog.:)I would have left in between due to workload, stress, and lack of time. But I felt someone somewhere waits for my words from the heart. Many of you have really paid attention to the posts.
The walk was not easy as each post was written after experiencing each feeling! As most of the posts were too emotional the stress was too much.Still the journey gave me a lot of joy.
My Amma and family give me full support![They know I will not change;so they changed]:)Cool!
I remember our beloved Bapuji and all other freedom fighters who gave up their precious lives in service of the nation.30th January marks the martyrdom of the Father Of Our Nation,Mahatma Gandhi.Atwo -minute silence is observed at 11 a.m in memory of Bapuji and all other martyrs.Gandhiji is my favourite role model and his autobiography-The Story Of  My Experiments With Truth-has influenced me a lot.

My dear friends, you gave me the emotional support
When I was feeling low.
Thank you so much for your compassion and kindness
That helped me to cross the dark tunnels...
Thank you so much for your cheers,
Making my wings stronger to fly high.
Thank you for your prayers,
That made me stronger to face the challenges.
The smiles you have caused made my days
Sprinkling enthusiasm and cheer all around.
I have tried to spend my time with you,
By replying to your comments in a special way.
God has been always kind to me
By making you read Sincerely Yours!
I am thankful for the wonderful connections
That blogosphere has gifted me.
I have no ill feelings against people
Who have given me the storms of sorrows
Leaving  the deep scars engraved on the walls of my heart......
They helped me in writing,
Such emotional and touching posts.
I am thankful for the tears some have caused
They brought out the burning feelings..
You made me turn to the nature
The wonderful sea,sky,wind and stars,
The butterflies,bees and blooms
I want to let you know,my friends,
I do believe in God Almighty
And I do believe in your love
So miracles do happen.
Remember my dearies to give a smile
And a heart filled with cheers and prayers.
They induce kindly thoughts and deeds.
Together let us say No to vices
And approve our culture and traditions.
Noone wants to walk the lonely path..
Holding hands in hands let us make
The journey pleasant and comfortable..
Please don't deprive someone of hopes,
It might be all he/she has.

I LOVE MY INDIA

25th January,2011
Tuesday
Dear Friends,
   A pleasant evening!
India celebrates her 62nd Republic Day on 26th,January 2011.On this special occasion let us share the spirit of freedom.Let us bask in the pride of amazing lives and sacrifices of freedom fighters.
HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY TO ONE AND ALL!

Republic Day Parade in Delhi is the main attraction of the Republic Day Festival. It is a military and cultural march which celebrates the implementation of the Indian Constitution in 1950 and celebrations begin by hoisting the National Flag and this is followed by military parade which starts in Raisina Hill in New Delhi and ends at Red Fort.
The  parade  is followed by a cultural parade with songs and dances from different regions of India which show the cultural richness  and diversity of the country.
No wonder, the mood is festive and recreational.Variations in culture are displayed through colourful attires and folk dances. The traditional predominates along with a touch modernity reflected in the display of might[latest defence gadgetry and acquisitions],technology and capabilities of growth in various sectors.
The parade symbolises the might.the tableaux are predominated by cultural motifs. The touch of the local highlights the identity of the area. The celebration is thus a homage to the past, the region and the nation that is a true republic and imposes nothing.
I am a proud Indian and I love my India!
Diversity is our legacy.........
Harmony  our creed.........
Unity our mission...........
Equality for all our goal.
India is my motherland..........
A wonderful land of natural beauty,
Where the mountains and rivers steal the hearts.
With the Himalayas in the north,
Indian Ocean in the south.
Arabian Sea in the west
And Bay of Bengal in the east!
The religious toleranace and the harmony
Numerous festivals bringing unity in diversity.
I respect our tri-colur National Flag!
Each colour has a specific meaning!
The saffron colour stands for sacrifice and bravery
The white colour denotes peace
The green colour is for prosperity!
Ashoka Chakra in the middle
Is a symbol of  progress and movement.
Our National Emblem is designed
After the Ashoka Pillar at Saranath!
Inscribed at the base of the national emblem
Are the words,Satyameva Jayate!
Our National Anthem,Jan -Gana-Mana
Is written by Shri Rabindra Nath Tagore!
Mera Bharat Mahaan Hai!
Let us enjoy,celebrate and relax.
We are aware of our rights.
But how much sincere are we in performing our duties?
My dearies,a drop makes a difference!
Please understand that a nation is made up of its people and their their success at both the individual and community level. This is what defines the success of the consttution.
Let us unite  and work towards the progress of our country!Let us spread the message of Universal Peace and Harmony!
Fill your hearts with love and compassion;
Let's make this world a more beautiful place to live in!
Let us sing together................with pride in our hearts.........
Saluting our National Flag.............
Saare Jahaan Se Acha................
Hindustan ..... hamara.................. hamara..................INDIA IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD..........I bow to you,My Motherland!
Jai Bharath! Jai Hind!

KOI HAR WAQT DIL KE PAAS HAI...

23rd January,2011
Sunday
Dear Friends,
           Good Morning!
A beautiful Sunday morning...A day to relax and enjoy and laze around..to get recharged for the hectic week that is coming up.The night was lovely attending an amazing wedding reception at Kenilworth beach resort.I wanted to write about those mesmerising moments in today's post. But now I feel, that can wait.
The best thing that one can enjoy during this chilly morning is a steaming hot cup of tea.Enjoying the beautiful blue waves and the cool breeze brushing against my cheeks,I sip my tea very slowly.
Someone somewhere is really disappointed and depressed. And I can't share my happiness when I see sad faces and feel the low spirits of my dear ones.
I had phone calls seeking guidance and advices. This post is dedicated to my dearies who is missing someone, who is losing confidence and who needs their spirits to be lifted up.''The secret of friendship is being a good listener''.I'm doing that.
We must change our attitude in facing adversity. We all face challenges in our lives.Life is not always a bed of roses. We have to suffer the pain of the prick of the thorns at times.During the tough times, never give away your hope;never lose trust in prayers.God Is Always with you.
We grow from kids to adults, get settled in lives, have children, change jobs, learn trades, travel to many places, meet thousands of people and experience so much! It's natural at times we go off the track.
''Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain'.Vivian Greene
Life gives us the dark clouds and rains
But the warm sunshine too.
Let's learn to enjoy the wonderful greenery
And the warmth of the sunshine too.
Life's experiences and events are like the seasons
They come and go away.
When we don't have any hold on them,
When we just can't have any preferences
Why should we keep crying?
We want to be happy and joyful;
Life never ends with any incident
Life must go on at any cost.
There are various ways to keep oneself busy.
Let us maximise our strengths
Instead of thinking low about our weaknesses.
Please develop the basic qualities;
Appreciating the winners,
Thanking the ones who help us,
Being careful and concerned about the aged and needy
Self appreciation is also a must.
Keep in touch with your family and friends,
Reasuure that you are loved and wanted;
Take time to learn a new activity;
Join a social service group
And work for a noble cause.
Many of the downtrodden and depressed,
Need our time and kind words.
It's always nice to be alone at times,
Giving time for oneself.
My friends,please stop worrying;
God has sent angels to take care of our worries.
Surrender all your problems to God!
Feel free and enjoy the present moment.
Trust in God and never lose faith and hope.
When we leave our problems with God,
We must forget them forever.
Let's forget what/who makes us crazy;
But never ever forget to say the daily prayers;
It is the beautiful way we convey our feelings
To someone who loves us the most!
My dearies,please learn to share
Share your joy with those
Who need encouragement.
Share your laughter with those,
Who haven't heard such one since long.
Share your tears with someone
Who has forgotten how to cry.
There may be delay in getting answers
For our prayers....
But please wait patiently.
As God's timing is always perfect.
Never get angry when things go wrong;
Our creator feels the pain.
We are so precious to our beloved God!
Don't ever forget that..............................
I hope you are feeling wonderful now.
Tell yourself repeatedly...
Koi Har Waqt Dil Ke Paas Hai..
Smile please...................cause many smiles......................
Let me offer this lovely fragrant white rose to my friends...
Wishing you a beautiful and peaceful evening,
       It's Anu signing off.....................

WORSHIPPING MOTHER NATURE

18thJanuary,2011
Tuesday
Dear Friends,
  A very pleasant good evening!
The blue waves are so beautiful at night with all colourful reflections of the lights from the ships.I spend time to enjoy the beauty of the sea at night and get recharged.Today the visual treat is at its best with the full moon in the sky.I do share a lot with my waves and clouds daily. The rapport is beautiful and we are happy with each other.I do get signals.:)
I will be always grateful to Nanda[my darling sissy]for making me appreciate nature. She is the one who insisted that I must listen to the music of the waves daily.Gradually,I realised the silence of nature, the twinkling of the stars, the chirping of birdies, the smiling blooms, the fast flowing streams, the whispers of leaves teach me a lot.
My Little Star taught me to enjoy the freshness of the cold grass blades under the feet walking without sandals. It's so wonderful!
I wish to thank my dear friend,Sahana for her Thanks Giving post .I had done a guest post for Sahana. She surprised me with her new post. She has written all the wonderful words expressing her true emotions and I could feel her love and friendship in each and every word.It was an amazing post! The link is here. Thanks a bunch my dear, for your post and the touching mail addressing me as Didi.:)Cool
http://rsahana.blogspot.com/2011/01/thanksgiving-post.html
I want to thank my new reader who has written a beautiful comment but requested me not to publish the same. You have inspired me a lot and I hardly knew I have secret admirers.:)You can contact me by gmail.Thank you so much!
I live in the beautiful land of endless beauty enriched with natural and cultural heritage. There are various folk festivals, folk beliefs and folksongs in Goa which speak volumes of the social life, flora and fauna of the region. The various rituals observed at the different festivals establish a direct link with the age-old traditions that emerged after the fusions of races and agricultural communities.Shigmo is an exclusive spring festival of men and Dhalo is of women. The varied cultural expressions of indigeneous nature are depicted through folk music, dance and drama. The song of Goan natives to seek the blessings of Mother Nature and of village deities has become a long cherished authentic tradition of Goa society.
Womenfolk all over Goa celebrate an important eco-feminist tradition of the West Coast of India, teh ritualistic Dhalo Festival during the month of 'Paush' and 'Maagh'.It reflects their devotion for the Mother Goddess [Dharti Mata]and the Forest Goddess[Van Devata] by reciting varied floksongs.
A unique festival,Dhalo is celebrated by the women of the villages.Festivities go on for five, seven or nine days in the month of Pausha and Magha of the Hindu calendar.

Dhalo performances take place in an auspicious open courtyard,a sacred place locally known as,'Dhalyacho Mand'or sometimes simply'Mand' where footwear is not allowed.
Dhalo, which is performed by women only begins on 'Dhalyacho Poonav'[full moon day].Women worship Tulsi before the Dhalo commences.
The Dhalo festival and songs reveal our bonds with various facets of nature. There are various Dhalo songs that make references to the local flora and fauna.
Dhalo comes to an end with a special ceremony called,'mand shimpane',in which women sprinkle water on the 'mand'.A song related with 'mand shimpane' is;
''Dhalyacha Mathyar Shanacho Kalo
Aayachan Dhalo Saran Gelo''.
During the Dhalo, women from two parallel rows, facing each other. They move forward and backward to the notes of the songs they sing.It is believed that the deities who are invited through these songs come to the Dhalyacho Mand to give their blessings to the women present here.
The Dhalo songs tell stories of life, society and the harmonious relationship women have with nature. These women who worship Mother Earth through such festival have kept alive the spirit of the eco-feminist festival of Dhalo and its songs.
Please take time to be with nature and enjoy the beauty! It's priceless!Never ever miss the amazing wonders-the sun, moon and the stars!
More plants,more birds and butterflies,
More trees,more rainfalls!
Let's together protect nature!
Please remember Nature lavishly pours her gifts on us!
And we do have a right to take care and respect Mother Earth!
Every morning the small shining star welcomes me before the sun!How beautiful is the smile of the star!
Have a look at the sky and let the full moon fills your heart with love and peace!
Tonight I want to sleep in a beautiful hut made of mud that we see in villages.
Wishing you sound sleep and a brighter tomorrow,
It's Anu signing off...

HAPPY MAKAR SANKRANTI!

14th January,2011
Friday
Dear Friends,
                  Good Evening!
On this auspicious evening, may I wish you A Very Happy Makar Sankranti,Happy Pongal and Happy Lohri!I have just come back from Shri Ayyappa Temple. The annual festival started today. The whole temple is beautifully decorated with marigold garlands and electric bulbs. The illuminations and lit lamps added beauty to the premises.
The added attraction was two huge cut outs of elephants. They looked like real elephants and I fell in love with them.I will name them soon. The golden plated Kolam with Lord Ayyappa engraved in the middle was brought from Thrissur. The musical instruments and the artists reached from Pattambi,in Kerala.
Cultural programme started after deepaaradhana. Most of the local students get a chance to perform their talents.Today there was Ayyappa Pooja in Dubai Ayyappa Temple too.I am so happy that my friend sent me the photos immediately.
Hope you might have watched Makara Jyothi On Tv screen.
after the pooja when the shrine was opened devotee's mind calls out,''Swamiye Saranamayyappa!''Lord is beautifully adorned with many floral garlands.each time when I go to temple,I surrender everything at the lotus feet of God.

Makar Sankranti is one of the most important Hindu festivals. The sun entethe sun enters the zodiac sign of 'Makar'[Capricon].'Sankranti means the movement from one zodiac sign to another. It marks the equinox-the day and night are of equal duration on this day. After today, the days will be longer. It marks the end of winter and heralds the arrival of spring. It is also the harvest festival, which has been celebrated from the times of the Aryans. The Sun God is said to turn his back on winter with his seven horse chariot, marching forward. The Sun is celebrated because it is the symbol of eternal light.

Each festival leaves some message to adopt.Makar Sankranti signifies enlightment and the transition of the self from ignorance to true knowledge. It spreads goodwill, peace and prosperity. It is indicative of overcoming hard feelings and promoting stronger bonds of love.

Makar Sankranti is celebrated all over India. In Gujarat, the celebrations are marked by kite flying competitions. In Uttar Pradesh the Kumbha Mela is held at Prayag in Allahabad.People bathe in the Sangam[confluence of the Ganga,Jamuna and Saraswathi] at Prayag.Hordes of people throng to this mela to take a dip in the holy water which is said to cleanse people of their sins. The holy bath is believed to open the gates of heaven for ordinary mortals according to Hindu custom. The Hindus offer water to the Sun God in gratitude for a good harvest.

The time to seek blessings from the Sun God is here.Hindus enjoy kite flying festival on Makar Sankranti.the different colours in the sky will certainly make an interesting panorama of kites that come attached with oodles of feelings. The flying of the kite may symbolically mean reaching out to God.Kite flying is indeed a gifted opportunity

Pongal in Tamil means 'boiling over or spill over'.The boiling over of milk in the clay pot is considered to denote future wishes for the family.the moment the rice boils over and bubbles out of the festival, the family members shout out 'Ponggalo Pongal'.
pongal is celebrated as harvest festival for three days in Chennai.Boiled rice and milk are offered to the Rain God the first day and to the Sun God the second day.on the third day, family cattle will be given a bath, adorned with colours to honour them for the hard work they put in.
In Punjab,it is celebrated as Lohri.Bonfires are lit on the eve of Sankranti into which sweets, sugarcane and rice are thrown.
In Maharashtra and Goa,it is celebrated by everyone.it is a special occasion for married ladies and they have a get together called 'Haldi Kumkum'.A pooja is offered after which family members exchange a sweet made out of sesame seeds and jaggery as agesture of goodwill.
According to Hindu mythology,it is believed that by bathing with 'til'[sesame] water, performing 'til homam'.'til tarpan','tilbhakshan' and donating 'til' cleanses past sins.

It is customary to eat sweetmeats made out of 'til' and 'gul'[jaggery] along with puffed rice.
Lakhs of devotees are crowded at Sabarimala to have drshan of Makar Jyothi. It's a miracle that happens every year on this day in between 6-6.30p.m.Makar Jyothi is a celestial star which is worshipped by the pilgrims.the devotees believe that witnessing the light brings them good luck and divine blessings.Makar Jyothi marks the climax of the Makara vilakku season of Sabarimala pilgrimage lasting 41 days. All the eyes will be glued to the channels now to have the punya darshan of Makara Jyothi.
It's Anu signing off..............
May Lord Ayyappa belss one and all.
Wishing you a peaceful and calm night,
Reminding you Anu loves all of you,
Sasneham,
Anu

pyaar kab hota hai?

12.01.2001
Wednesday
Dear Friends,
       Good Evening!
It's a beautiful evening! From the interior of my flat I can watch my deep blue sea,the boats and the ships through the glass doors and windows.Bedroom also faces sea.I just put off the lights and admire the illuminated ships anchored, the reflections of the colourful lights in the water. It's simply amazing...Night turns to be so soothing and heart gets filled with love.Listening to the soft music, looking at the star studded sky,I fall asleep. How lucky I am!
New religious month Makaram starts on 15th January. The Annual Festival of Shree Ayyappa Temple begins from 14th,January.Before I turn to the religious week, let me write a post on the sweet nothings and the beautiful feelings!:)

When does someone fall in love?

When the eyes twinkle like stars at the very sight of him/her,
You love looking at her/his eyes to see the love glow!
When your heart beats faster when you see him/her;
When you carry a smile to the bed that is left for you,
When you think of him/her waking up in the morning.
When pitter patter raindrops fall on the tiled roof,
Arousing the soft and romantic feelingsin one's heart.
When one enjoys the smell of the fresh mud,
After the first showers of the season.
When the fragrance of jasmines spread in the garden,

When someone gives you the sense of security, love and comfort,
When you start missing someone in his/her absence;
When the loving voice sends you shivers in the spine.
And when you feel sad the moment the call ends.
When there is mutual understanding and bond,
When he/she is honest with you...
Your realise that your happiness is really important for him/her;
When you feel lot of tenderness than to anyonelese..
When you start humming a tune always...
When you prefer night to daylight....
When one feels miserable in one's absence.
When one put other's needs before one's own,
Even when the whole world is falling apart,
All you need is to hear his/her voice,
To make sure everything is okey with him/her.
When someone respects one's ways
And starts accepting our flaws.
When the days become longer and nights shorter..
When the whole world turns out to be so beautiful....
When you take extra time to be infront of the mirror,
When you secretely long for the passionate touch,
And become eager to hear the sweet nothings.
Love and to be loved is in everyone's life!
And if one awaits, the right person will reach you!
When you feel you are in love,
You must express it at the earliest!
My dear friends, there is nothing more exciting
Than to know someone loves us!
One does feel important!
Hey,a red rose bud is blooming silently....
Is that in your heart?:)

And here is a basket full of red and yellow roses to that someone special.....
''No burden is too heavy if it is carried with love''.So,you can carry her!:)[hey, she is never a burden!]
Something to add.........
Engagement rings are often worn on the fourth finger of the left hand because ancient Greeks maintained that finger contains the Vena Amoris,or the vein of love that runs straight  to the heart.
True love is always serene.
When you are reading this post,
If someone appears in your mind,
Then you are in love with that person.:)
Zindagi  mein sabhi pyaar kiya karte hain.......
Mein to markke bhi tume chaahunga......:)
Wishing you a lovely and romantic night,
It's Anu signing off..........

ARE YOU AN INSPIRATION?

                                                   8.01.2011,                                                                                                              Saturday

Dear Friends,

Good Morning!
How are you?Ireached here on 2nd morning. The rail journey through Konkan railways is really amazing. The green fields, the small rivers, the wells in the middle of the fileds give us a beautiful visual treat!Iwas so busy with official submissions and assignments .There was no time to think of writing a post or visiting my friends' blogs.Thank you so much for your mails asking where did i disappear and asking  for new posts.I could feel your care and love.
''To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides''.I am feeling that now. Many of my friends and relatives have told me often  that I have been an inspiration to them. That really makes me feel good.
I do always love counselling.I strongly feel to pull people back from the brink.Lonely sigletons in metros get prone to depression during festive season.Failure in romantic relationships also lead to suicide.I will be blessed if somone gets inspired by my words at sincerely yours. Please believe me,you are never alone.
The gurgle of the flowing river,
   The murmer of leaves
The cool drizzles dripping from the leaves,.....
The  chirping of the cute birds........................
The breez kissing my cheeks............................
While plucking the fresh blooms,
The red rose among the green leaves,
The calm and rising waves of the sea,
The twinkling stars of the sky,
Inspire me to sing a new tune!
When we are blessed with wonderful natural gifts,
Why can't we think of being an inspiration?
The books and magazines always inspire me.
The music lifts my spirits to the high.
Why can't we be a blessing to others?
How nice we do feel to know
We are in someone's thoughts and prayers!
By being an inspiration,do u know?
We cause a smile and instil cofidence
We can make the disturbed souls calm,
We can bring back the dreams to someone,
Make someone believe in himself/herself,
Encouraging him/her to do more......................
Bringing out the best in oneslef!
Be with someone who is crushed and cry in pain.
Stretch your hands to wipe the tears
Making someone aware Life is still beautiful!
You can even do it sitting far away
Distance is never a problem!
Just a little of your time and good thoughts,
Can lead someone to the light.
Promise me once for all,
You can show the sunshine in life..
Never ever make a person feel low,
It's a terrible experience to go through.
All my dearies,I wish you happiness and smiles,
When you travel the long journey of life.
God Bless You to have the courage to move forward...
